Turn Lush Handmade Bath Soaps into Perfect DIY Winter Wedding Favours

Choosing the right wedding favour to give your guests is tricky business. A lot of the wedding favours that are typically given out usually end up collecting dust in the back of a cupboard, or they’re thrown out as soon as a garbage can is in sight.

So I thought to myself, what would be something that someone could use right away or keep long term for potential use in the future? It might sound a tad tacky to give out soap and bath bombs, but Lush brings something entirely different to the table. Not only do they offer fantastic seasonal scents, all their products are vegan, eco-friendly, and hand made with little or no preservatives!

I came across this wedding favour idea while I was browsing through my local mall. With all the winter festivities approaching, Lush cosmetics filled their shelves with great winter and Christmas-related products. As I walked in, I was greeted by warm and sweet smells of candy cane, spicy aromas, peppermints and citrus.

This is the Titsy Totsy bath bomb, which is quite fitting for weddings as it is romantic and infused with roses. Use this gorgeous product with your lover or on your own to de-stress after a long day of work!

Winter wonderland themed soap: Candy Cane soap, a sweet candy cane peppermint that makes you second guess whether it is actually soap. Winter Globe soap, a refreshing citrus soap to wake you up on those dreary winter days.

These little blocks of soaps make a great DIY project. It’s easy and you can be as creative as you like. You can also whip up your own batch of wedding tags if you have a computer and basic Photoshop skills.

Tie these little favours together with string, ribbons and felt snowflakes, which can all be purchased at your local craft store.

Li’L Lush Pud: A mixture of clove, rose and fig. This bath bomb has such a mild scent, it’s not overpowering at all. You can package the bath bomb in clear cellophane bags or even tie them in boxes; your options are endless (depending on the size of your wallet), but hey it is your big day after all! If you still think soap isn’t a great idea for a wedding favor, look at it this way. At the end of your awesome wedding party, everyone will be sweaty and smelly from all that dancing and having a good time, so why not give them a practical gift that you know will be put to good use?

Not a Lush fan, but this makes a lot of sense. Not tacky and practical plus it smells delicious!

I would want me wedding favours to hold some permanence, symbolic to my marriage. But this is a sneaky alternative if the wedding was on a tight budget.

Oh I totally what you mean Tian, but i’ve spoken to many people who go to weddings and receive symbolic favors ex. inscribed shot glasses or anything inscribed actually, were thrown out or hidden in boxes never to be used.

Really like the idea that these would actually get used by the wedding guests. The DIY packaging is simple and cheap enough but they still look awesome… lovin’ it Steph!
