Top Wedding Trends for 2012 from Gush Events

The girls from Gush Events are back again with their top wedding trends for 2012.

With wedding season in full swing and loads of bridal shows at your fingertips we are seeing a ton of inspiration for this year’s weddings. And let me tell you, 2012 is going to sparkle! Here is what we predict…

Colour Palettes

We are seeing a lot of subdued, warmer tones for this year’s colour palette. Colours that are inviting and yet still luxurious.  Gold is going to be a force to be reckoned with this year, not only is it regal but still a classic option.  We are also seeing a lot of rose pink and robin’s egg blue. A combination that will work well together or paired separately with creams, ivories, and gold.  I think we will also see a lot more peach, champagne and platinum.

Glitter, Sparkle and Shine

Oh bling, how we adore you.  That’s right; the sparkle is here to stay!  We are seeing glitter everywhere this year.  Most notably in linens, table accessories such as chargers, napkin ring holders and votives, as well as in stationary and confections!

Let There Be Cake

We are definitely going to see a return of the wedding cake this season. Move over cupcakes, your big sister is back and more beautiful than ever.  Couples will start to shy away from smaller confections and lean more towards a traditional cake with a greater emphasis on the details.  Expect to see more elaborate designs, delicate embellishments and various shapes and sizes.

Hair Candy

The fascinator will re-emerge in 2012 and will continue to be an outlet for brides to personalize their wedding day look. Expect to find less of the bird cage veil and more focus on intricate designs and delicate details including florals, lace, feathers and pearls.

Tablescapes

We will see a lot less over the top centerpieces this year but rather smaller groupings of floral arrangements, candles, and decorative objects. We will also see a greater emphasis on napkins and accessories along with textured and patterned linens.
